Implants

In our clinic we make sure to offer our patient’s state-of-the-art, modern treatment methods. One of our specialties is Implantology. Implants are the best and most comfortable solution to replace missing teeth. An implant serves as a root, similar to a strong base to hold crowns, bridges or the dentures. The biggest advantage of an implant, compared to a conventional bridge, is that there is no requirement to grind the healthy teeth to hold the bridge. This is the reason that implants are very popular. At the Dental Aesthetics Center, we are able to make an accurate diagnosis and plan treatment options, of even the most complicated cases. We will be more than happy to answer all your questions regarding bone Augmentation and Soft Tissue Management.

Basic information about using Implants

Implants are considered clinically as one of the most proven methods with a very high success rate of replacing missing teeth. Certain factors can restrict the placement of implants, For example:

  • Smoking
  • Poor oral hygiene
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Cortisone therapy
  • Bisphosphonate therapy

It is important to inform our dental team about all your medical issues and the medications that you are currently taking, at the initial consultation for Dental Implants.

About implantation procedure

If you want to know the exact procedure of Dental Implants, you should read the following explanation for a successful implant surgery.
At the beginning of the treatment, an exact diagnosis and treatment plan is discussed. To check the exact form and location of the roots of the neighboring teeth, as well as the nerves in the jaws. It is necessary to perform a three-dimensional CT scan. This will determine the amount of the bone available to place the implants, in the perfect position.

The risk of damaging the neighboring tooth structures is kept at a minimal. There is also the possibility to produce a surgical guide for implants before the surgery, to reduce the surgical time as the planning happens on the computer, in advance. The surgery is done under local anesthesia in the clinic. In complicated cases or in case the patient wants the surgery to be performed in the hospital, it is done under general anesthesia. During the surgery the area of the missing teeth will be prepared and a titanium implant will be inserted in the jawbone, which serves as a replacement for the missing tooth root. Afterwards the gum over the implant will be covered and the sutures will be removed a week later. During the healing period the implant will integrate with the surrounding bone, which builds a solid base for crown, bridge or prosthesis, which can be fixed at a later stage.

3D Computer-guided Implantology

Implants are considered clinically as one of the most proven methods with a very high success rate of replacing missing teeth. Certain factors can restrict the placement of implants,
For example:
The Dental Aesthetics Center uses an interactive 3D computer imaging software that is used for Dental Implant planning. The three simple steps in CT-guided dental implant are planning, surgery, and restoration. This technology allows our doctors to replace missing teeth with dental implants accurately, safely, and with optimal functional and cosmetic results.

Step 1- CT-scan Image. The scan takes only a few minutes. Images are captured in multiple cross sections and gives accurate bone measurements.
Step 2- Computer Planning. The CT images are reconstructed into a 3D computer model to allow virtual placement of implants and restorations.
Step 3- Surgical Guide. The computer model is then used to fabricate a surgical guide, accurately translating the implant positions from the computer to the patient during the surgery. The surgeon places the surgical guide in the mouth of the patient and the implants are then placed with precision.
